K-12 Students

My JUMP teacher is really understanding and helpful. She can tell if you are upset or annoyed and she will change what she is doing to help you. Lydia has been through tutoring herself and won’t make you do stuff that she knows will not work.

 We’re in your corner

What happens next

The fact that you’re here reading these words means you’re already braver than most kids out there. Here’s what we’re going to do together:

1. We’ll talk about you

All sessions are video calls so no need to travel anywhere. In your first session, you’ll tell us what you know and what you’re worried about.

From here, we’re going to create a step-by-step plan just for you, so you can progress at your own pace.

2. Change the learning process

We’ll teach you how to read in a totally different way than you’re learning at school. You won’t sit through a lecture or read out loud to us for an hour.

Our sessions are about understanding language patterns and exploring them together through activities. You’ll be surprised what you can do!

3. Celebrate your progress

You and your family will see your progress every month. You’ll be able to show your parents what you already learned and what you'll be learning next.

Your teachers will give you feedback that you can share with your parents! You can even order books to practice at home!

Our interventionists

Our interventionists (teachers) are focused on you without any distractions from other students. You might feel nervous at first, but you’ll find that they are excited you are working with them.

They don’t mind mistakes because we all make mistakes. And they already believe you’re smart and capable.

Resources for students

Individualized resources are made available following enrollment, when we know more about your specific needs. However, you can also access the following free resources via the JUMP blog. We hope you find them useful.

  • A woman and a young girl sitting at a kitchen table with a plate of pancakes and fruit, smiling at the camera.

With dyslexia, my daughter struggled to sound out letters and small words. In less than a year with JUMP Reading, she's reading small books on her own. Her progress has been incredible, and she keeps growing stronger with each session.

    - Elementary school Mom

  • A woman, a child, and a man smiling together outdoors in casual clothing.

At age 9, our son read below kindergarten level despite school interventions. Now at 11, he's reading at a 4th-grade level! His confidence has improved in all aspects of his life just from being able to read better. JUMP Reading transformed his journey.

    - Parents of 9-year old

  • Smiling child at playground flexing arms

JUMP Reading's flexible program allowed my son to improve his reading and grades while maintaining his sports schedule. He never missed an event, and his confidence soared. It was the perfect win-win for his academic and athletic success!

    - Mom of basketball player
